Seperate sections for Domino and Exchange?
Hey Guys,

Seems very one dimensional which I love, BES admin info, but I was thinking it would be great if I could see an exchange only forum, or a domino only forum, as so many things can be custom for that. Figured I would throw it out there, it was most likely discussed already.

Great job with the site.

We tried that at BBF, however there was simply too much valuable information that was caught in one forum or the other that was applicable to either platform (and even GW) that it became apparent to merge them back together. One day, if there's enough interest in splitting things up or if the actual BES platform changes completely, I believe it's worth entertaining. However, using BBF as the perfect experiment with content and traffic, it was a complete failure.

I just figure since this is a BES admin forum, that the BES admin part would be broken up a little more. Lots of great info here, but only one real forum where you would ask questions. But that makes sense.

Actually, that's a perfect argument for why the forums should not be segregated into different messaging platforms.
BES is pretty much the same for each, and the admin side doesn't differ all that much between platforms.

I hate to disagree, but admin differs greatly between platforms. There are many situations that would never be able to be applied to another platform. Address book path's in Domino, state databases etc:. I administer both Domino and Exchange BES on a daily basis, and they are known issues in domino that aren't in exchange and visa versa. But you are right, keeping it all in one platform is a better idea. I apologize.
