NEEDED: BES 5.0 API Code Examples

So now that I just got all my basic functions scripted out with the BESUserAdminClient for 4.1 we are moving to 5.0 and I want to make new scripts to utilize the API stuff that BES 5.0 brings. Only problem, I have no clue how to utilize the API's (BlackBerry Administration API 5.0.0 API Reference). Google has been less than helpful as has been the Developers forum on Blackberry.com.

Does anyone have any sample scripts that utilizes the API's for BES 5.0 to do anything like add a user or retrieve info? Anything would help, I just need to see how to code with them for a starting point.

Thanks in advance.

I'll have something for you soon. I've been creating a 4.1.X vs 5.0.X doc :)

Example:

Create BES account and assign Group

4.1.6 = BESuseradminclient -p [BRK password] -n [BRK server FQDN or IP] -sqluser [SQL user] -sqlpass [SQL password] -add -u [user’s Primary SMTP address] -b [target BES server] -group “[BES User Group name]”

5.0 = BESUserAdminClient.exe -p [BBUA password] –username [BAS User or AD User] –password [BAS User Password or AD User Password] -add -u [user’s Primary SMTP address] -b [target BES server] -group “[BES User Group name]”

Is this what you are looking for?

unfortunately not. i can already modify my current scripts to use the besuseradmin client, but i want to take advantage of the new api's which is completely different. they included the besuseradminclient in 5.0 for legacy support but are moving towards using the api's because you can do more with them which i would like to figure out how to take advantage of

i appreciate your response though.

I'm still digging... I did manage to find the SDK for you BlackBerry - BlackBerry Administration API and some "how to" - ish docs

BlackBerry Administration API - Manuals and Guides

I'm with you on this.. if we could create a template or something to compare custom code against then that would be great to have.
