I'm a new BES Admin but have been dealing with BBs for a long time. My boss found out that I know more about BBs than the BES Admin so now they want me as the BES Admin (funny I know).

Anyway, I've had a bunch of users ask if there is a way to share a calendar and be able to access a shared calendar on their BB. I haven't found any ways to do this in all the research and reading I've done but wanted to know if anyone has found any way to do so?

Thanks for any help, even if it can't be done.

B

I'd love to know, too. I have a Marketing department wanting to do this, albeit I can't see why they can't just check the calendar when in the office

The only way to do this currently is if one or more people want to have wired calendar synchronization. It was rumored that shared calendar synchronization would come with BES 5.0, but nothing I've read indicates any truth to that for the initial release. I could be wrong, but I would expect potential in-roads into this later in the year at the earliest (during the first service pack release).

If you want to do it manually, they can disable the wireless synchronization on their calendar (Calendar > Options > Wireless Synchronization = No). This setting has been known to switch back under certain conditions, so you would possibly need to disable the wireless calendar sync in a new IT Policy (there are two of them) and send it to the user.

I read that BB Unite allows it but can't run that along with BES. Dang it!

I hope that BES 5.0 does it cause I'm upgrading ASAP if it does!

It honestly baffles me that they can easily add in the solution into their consumer product, but it has eluded them with regards to the flagship BES solution. Go figure.
