Overview

<content> The Folder Redirection option is missing from the Email Settings menu in the Messages application of the BlackBerry smartphone.

Cause

<content> The Desktop [CMIME] service book is missing or corrupt.
</content>

Resolution

<content> Complete one of the following resolutions:
Resolution 1
Confirm whether there is an existing copy of the Desktop [CMIME] service book on the BlackBerry smartphone. To confirm this, complete the following steps:
  1. From the Home screen, go to Options > Advanced Options > Service Book.
  2. Look for a Desktop [CMIME] entry.
  3. If the Desktop [CMIME] service book is present, delete it by highlighting it, opening the menu, and then selecting Delete.
  4. Resend service books to the BlackBerry smartphone from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. For instructions, consult with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server administrator.
<hr> Resolution 2
The following steps should be performed by the BlackBerry Enterprise Server administrator:
  1. Remove the BlackBerry smartphone user account from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
  2. Perform a security wipe on the BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions, see KB02318.
  3. Add the BlackBerry smartphone user to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
  4. Activate the BlackBerry smartphone user's account on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
