Overview

<content> If incoming messages are being filtered to a folder other than the Inbox in the email application they will not arrive on the BlackBerry smartphone if folder redirection is not enabled for the folder. Folder redirection can be enabled using the following methods:
Note: If the messages are being redirected to a Personal Stores (.PST) folder, the messages will not be delivered to the BlackBerry smartphone.

Resolution

<content> To configure folder redirection from the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:
  1. On the BlackBerry smartphone Home screen, open Messages.
  2. Click the trackwheel or menu key and select Options.
  3. Select Email Settings.
  4. Click the trackwheel or menu key and select Folder Redirection.
  5. Expand the Mailbox -<username> folder and select the check box corresponding to the folder to which the messages are redirected.
  6. Click the trackwheel or menu key and select Save.
To configure folder redirection from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, perform the following:
  1. Open the BlackBerry Manager.
  2. In BlackBerry Manager, in the right pane, right-click the BlackBerry smartphone user and select Properties.
  3. On the Redirection tab, under folder redirection, select Selected Folders.
  4. Select the check box for the folder that contains the messages that you want forwarded to the BlackBerry smartphone.
To configure folder redirection from the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, perform the following:
  1. In the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, open Email Settings.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click Choose Folders.
  3. Select the check boxes for the folders that contain the messages that you want to forward to the BlackBerry smartphone.
Note: If the BlackBerry smartphone is set up using BlackBerry® Desktop Redirector, folder redirection can only be enabled using the BlackBerry Desktop Software method.

Additional Information

<content> If you are not receiving messages on the BlackBerry smartphone, and folder redirection is enabled, this could be caused by setting up user filters within Email Settings or on the BlackBerry smartphone. As a result, messages will not be forwarded to the BlackBerry smartphone.

THis is great except the options are greyed out??
 
When i go to do the following the folders are greyed out, my inbox subfolders arent listed and i cant select or deselft anything.

To configure folder redirection from the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

On the BlackBerry smartphone Home screen, open Messages.
Click the trackwheel or menu key and select Options.
Select Email Settings.
Click the trackwheel or menu key and select Folder Redirection.
Expand the Mailbox - folder and select the check box corresponding to the folder to which the messages are redirected.
Click the trackwheel or menu key and select Save.

Your help is appreciated with this.

Can you provide some more details about your environment?
What version BES and what service pack level?
What messaging platform and version?
What model handheld and version of handheld OS?
