Overview

When performing an enterprise activation, the process stops responding.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, complete the following steps for either BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.0 or software version 4.1:

For BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.0
  1. Cancel the enterprise activation process from the BlackBerry smartphone of the BlackBerry smartphone user.
  2. Delete all data and applications from the BlackBerry smartphone of the BlackBerry smartphone user. Note: For instructions on deleting all data and applications on the BlackBerry smartphone, see KB02318.
  3. Remove the BlackBerry smartphone user account and state database from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. 4. Add the BlackBerry smartphone user account back to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
  5. Navigate to Start > All Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server > BlackBerry Manager.
  6. Click the server in the left Explorer pane. A list of user names appears in the right pane.
  7. Right-click one of the user names and then select Properties.
  8. Click the PIM Sync tab.
  9. Clear the check box beside Enable Wireless Device Management for this user.
  10. Begin the enterprise activation process again. Note: For instructions on completing enterprise activation, see the Enabling wireless enterprise activation section of the BlackBerry Wireless Enterprise Activation Technical Overview white paper.
  11. When the enterprise activation process is complete, select the check box beside Enable Wireless Device Management for this user.

For BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1
Note: For information on how to remove a BlackBerry smartphone user from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server in an IBM Lotus Domino environment, see KB10418. To add or remove users from all BlackBerry Enterprise Server environments, see KB11638.
  4. Add the BlackBerry smartphone user account back to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
  5. Navigate to Start > All Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server > BlackBerry Manager.
