Hi all,

I need some help please. After activating a new Bold for a VP today, he has duplicate contacts & when I go into his Address Book Options, 2 "Desktops" are listed under the Address Books - one w/842 contacts (correct according to his Lotus Notes Address Book) & one w/872 contacts. Anyone got any ideas here? This is about the 6th device for the user & after huge issues w/his last Pearl, RIM had me completely remove the user from my BES, remove his state database & add the user as brand new. Still had some issues w/his Pearl so got him this new Bold - now this! I've confirmed replication settings, roaming settings - all good, just 2 Desktop Address Books!

I admittedly don't know nearly enough about Domino to really help here ... but when you did the activation did you do it wirelessly? What happens if you connect the device to a PC and purge the duplicate database? Then delete the duplicate service book.

You should be able to wipe it remotely and reload from the server.
Address Book > menu > options > type rset.

keep in mind it will wipe out your address books and resync from the server (if wireless sync is turned on). Make sure you have a backup

I did do EA wireless. I will take your advise & use DM to b/u & purge the address book.

Sith, I didn't realize rset worked for the Address Book - thought it oly worked for the Calendar/CICAL service record. I'll see if hdawg's fix works first & if not, rset it is!

sounds like you tried to apply a backup of the device and that is what created the duplicate desktop under address book.
