Default Compose Email from Handheld

Ok, I have a strange problem with one of my users. He is able to reply to emails from his pearl, but cannot start an email from it. He also cannot forward emails from his phone. Any suggestions? Battery pull and resend service books has been done.

He is running OS 4.5 and our BES is 4.1.6 in and Exchange 2003 Environment.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

That is an odd one. I'd have him try regenerating his encryption key. Click on Options -> Security Options -> General Settings -> Scroll to bottom of screen -> Menu -> Regenerate Encryption Key.

If that doesn't work, I'd probably wipe his device and re-activate.

Before wipe try deleting all service books then resend. Sometimes a corrupt service book will prevent the new books from overwriting. Also double check the permissions for the BESAdmin account on his account.

What errors / messages display on the BlackBerry handheld when he attempts to send / forward?

Is the send option not there, or when he sends does he get an error message?
