Is there anyway possible for my users to be able to view Office 2007 documents from their BlackBerry's if we're still on BES 4.0?

Seems our upgrade is going to be delayed...

I've seen the option where I can add extensions:




and I found the path in the registry to add extensions, too. But, after adding docx, dotx, xlsx, pptx, and ppsx, for testing, and restarting the BES Attachment service, it wouldn't work, i.e. I couldn't read/view Office 2007 documents on my BlackBerry...

Any other ideas, besides upgrading to BES 4.1 with SP4?

My guess would be no. The ability to view those for BES 4.1 came in the form of a Service Pack. If you are up-to-date with SP's on a 4.0 system, I'd venture to say no. SP4 for 4.1 would have allowed the Attachment Service to process the newer file types, which is why the registry hacking and Configuration Panel options do not work.

BES 4.1 SP4 is required to view Office 2007 .???x documents.

Sorry, no other way unless you use a 3rd party application (none of which I know off the top of my head).

Right-o. The attachment service has to have a distiller in order to process the attachments, so simply adding extensions won't do much for actually being able to process the attachment to a mobile format. We think you should bite the bullet and upgrade
