Default Exchange 2010 Migration for BES

Morning,

We are on BES v5.0.3.31 and were using Exchange 2003 with this until yesterday.

Now we have migrated to Exchange 2010 on to a new server.

We want to be sure everything is set up correctly for our BBs to recieve\send emails.

Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding what we must check with this new exchange server and with it being 2010?

Please note that we are not able to reiceve nor send emails via our BBs.

Many thanks,
Kevin

I'm assuming you have already migrated your user mailboxes and your BESAdmin mailbox to 2010? If so, then you will need to do the following:
  1. Make sure your ExchangeMAPI components are up to date.
  2. Log into a CAS. Open the Exchange Management Console and enter the following to set the Exchange permissions:

    Quote:
    Get-MailboxDatabase | Add-ADPermission -User "BESAdmin" -AccessRights ExtendedRight -ExtendedRights Receive-As, ms-Exch-Store-Admin
    Then enter:

    Quote:
Add-RoleGroupMember "View-Only Organization Management" -Member "BESAdmin"
    Then enter:

    Quote:
Add-ADPermission -InheritedObjectType User -InheritanceType Descendents -ExtendedRights Send-As -User "BESAdmin" -Identity
    "OU=<organizational_unit>,DC=<domain_1>,DC=<domain_2>,DC=<domain_3>"
  3. Enter the following to create a new Exchange Throttling Policy:

    Quote:
    New-ThrottlingPolicy BESPolicy
    Then:

    Quote:
    Set-ThrottlingPolicy BESPolicy -RCAMaxConcurrency $null -RCAPercentTimeInAD $null -RCAPercentTimeInCAS $null -RCAPercentTimeInMailboxRPC $null -EWSMaxConcurrency $null -EWSPercentTimeInAD $null -EWSPercentTimeInCAS $null -EWSPercentTimeInMailboxRPC $null -EWSMaxSubscriptions $null -EWSFastSearchTimeoutInSeconds $null -EWSFindCountLimit $null
If you're using Exchange 2010 SP1, then you'll also need to do the following:

    Quote:
    set-ThrottlingPolicy BESPolicy -CPAMaxConcurrency $NULL -CPAPercentTimeInCAS $NULL -CPAPercentTimeInMailboxRPC $NULL
    Finally:

    Quote:
    Set-Mailbox "BESAdmin" -ThrottlingPolicy BESPolicy

That should just about do it... I think..

For those of you looking to migrate from Exchange 2003/2007 to Exchange 2010, take a look at the following KB:

KB22601-How to migrate from Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or 2007 to Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 in a BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 environment

This KB goes through the permissions required in Exchange 2010.
