Question Is there Blackberry Protect equivalent for BES 5.0?

One of the users I administer lost his Blackberry while abroad.

He expected me to be able to track it using Blackberry Protect as his son has it.

I tried to explain that Blackberry Protect is for BIS not BES, he accepted it could not be done but he knew Blackberry Protect was free and I have been charged with coming up with a free solution.

I know BES tracks Latitude and Longitude on the SyncLBS database on the Blackberry Server (we do not have full blown SQL Server as we have less than 100 users).

I am not an SQL Database Admin and so I am unable to figure out a way of extracting this data in order to look up the details on Google Maps or another Mapping Website.

Does anyone know of anyway to do this?

I have found the easiest way to do this, is to download Query Express Download Query Express

Connect to your server with the BESMgmt database on and run the following script

use besmgmt;
From SyncLBS JOIN UserConfig
ON SyncLBS.UserConfigID = UserConfig.Id

Superb Marcus,

Got that up and ran the query and it's what I'd be looking for.

Unfortunately there is no Data in there at the moment.

I enabled Allow Geolocation Service, Enable Enterprise Location Tracking and left the other policies at default under Location Based Services and saved it as seperate IT Policy and I applied it and got the message on the user's BB that the "Your Location is now being tracked at the server".

Is there anything I've missed or do I need to manipulate the script?

If I recall, it does take a little while for the data to start rolling in.
