Single User Problem
I’ve got a single user (out of 300) who seems to be experiencing outages after 5AM every morning. His office is another state away and on its own exchange (2k3) server. The BES server is located in another physical location a state away from him. I’m not sure what’s going on with him, so I put him on a static static agent so I could watch his MAGT logs closely.
I've read a KB that mentions this is caused because his account is hidden from the GAL, but it's not. I checked the Exchange server and he is not hidden.
[30002] (01/30 00:00:16.439):{0x9B4} Server = <EXCH_SERVER>, Mailbox = /o=<DOMAIN>/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=<USER_NAME> Description = [Collaboration Data Objects - [MAPI_E_LOGON_FAILED(80040111)]]
[30002] (01/30 00:06:28.743):{0x9B4} Server = <EXCH_SERVER>, Mailbox = /o=<DOMAIN>/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=<USER_NAME> Description = [Collaboration Data Objects - [MAPI_E_LOGON_FAILED(80040111)]]
[30002] (01/30 00:12:50.473):{0x9B4} Server = <EXCH_SERVER>, Mailbox = /o=<DOMAIN>/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=<USER_NAME> Description = [Collaboration Data Objects - [MAPI_E_LOGON_FAILED(80040111)]]
(This specific error goes on for a while, but for reading purposes I did not post the whole thing.)
So when he sends or calls me and says his blackberry stopps working, I give him a new STATIC AGENT and his device begins working fine.. WTF?!?!
His mailbox was originally found in the wrong mailbox store, so we moved him to the correct one and I did not hear anything for a couple of days..(Maybe he was out of town.) However, this issue returned.
Also, some of his appointments are returning this error as well:
[40091] (01/30 00:01:01.097):{0x9B4} {<user>} GetAChildInstance - Filter of calendar folder failed to return appointment

What's the latency between the BES and this user's Exchange server?
If it's a slow link, you can expect issues such as what you're seeing with this user.

What happens when you use IEMSTEST, does it get the same errors?
After moving the user did you run handheld cleanup or restart the services (setting a static agent is a temp fix for BES to find the users mailbox however it shouldn't be used if it's not necessary)
The Mailstore the user was moved to, is anyone else on that store as well? are permissions setup correctly and propagating to that store?
What else is happening @ 5am every day in the enviro, any backups happening per chance?
You have a mixed mode enviro, where is the BESAdmin mailbox located?
On your Exchange 2003 servers, have you noticed any 9649 errors in the app logs?

What else is happening @ 5am every day in the enviro, any backups happening per chance? Not sure, I might have to get the Exchange Admin to look at that

On your Exchange 2003 servers, have you noticed any 9649 errors in the app logs? I'm going to check in just a few minutes

That should have been "9646" errors instead, sorry.
