Default Cutover migration, how do I activate a user on the new server before moving the SRP?

Iím planning a BES 4.1.7 to 5.0.2 migration using Blackberry Enterprise Transporter. We will be performing a knife-edge cutover of our single BES server, and will be moving the existing SRP to the new server.

The Blackberry Enterprise Transporter documentation states that prior to migrating, I must log into BAS, create a user account, assign a device to that account, and activate the device. How can I do this on the new server if I have only one SRP? And is this just a suggested test procedure, or is there some actual server/database initialization that this process triggers?

Here are two links to what Iím referring to:

From System requirements: BlackBerry Enterprise Transporter - BlackBerry Enterprise Transporter - Installation and Administration Guide - BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit - 5.0.2, fifth requirement from the top is:
Before you use the BlackBerry Enterprise Transporter for the first time, you must log in to the BlackBerry Administration Service and verify that you can create a user account, assign a BlackBerry device to the user account, and activate the device.

From Troubleshooting preview errors - BlackBerry Enterprise Transporter - Installation and Administration Guide - BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit - 5.0.2Error: No users have been activated on destination server - user may lose some device functionality
Description: This message appears when you try to move user accounts to a destination BlackBerryģ Enterprise Server that has never had user accounts added to it and has never had BlackBerry devices activated.
Possible solution: In the BlackBerry Administration Service for the destination BlackBerry Enterprise Server, create and activate a test user account. Try moving user accounts to the destination BlackBerry Enterprise Server again.

Hey Wishbone, there seems to be confusion as there is no need for using the transporter if you are performing a knife-edge cut-over. The transporter is only used to move users from one server to another IF you are using a migration kit you can get from RIM. (essentially they give you a second SRP and auth key which replaces your old SRP after 90 days) You have two options

1. complete a knife-edge cut-over of your 4.1.7 server to the new server then do an in-place upgrade o 4.1.7 to BES 5.0.2

2. get a migration kit from RIM, stand up a new BES 5.0.2 on the new server using the information they provide you and use the enterprise transporter to move users from one server to another (this is why they say to add a user and ET them first, this ensures you actually SEE the BES 5.0.2 server working before actually migrating actual working users to it on the fly)
