We have BES 4.1, with it's configuration and MDS databases living on a remote SQL 2000 server.

We need to move these databases to a new SQL 2008 server.

I have read this KB: KB03112-How to move the BlackBerry Configuration Database to a new Microsoft SQL Server instance

My question is around Step 2, Task 4 which is "Update the BlackBerry Configuration Database schema."

Do we need to complete this step, seeing as we already have an existing database? Will a backup from SQL 2000 and a restore to SQL 2008 not be enough?
