Cool BES 5.0 cant login to Monitoring service

Hi all,

I am unable to login to BMS for some strange reason. I have tried reinstalling it but no luck. Whenever I try and login I get the following message:

The application has encountered a system error. Please report this error to the System Administrator.

Just to tell you a little about the setup. The monitoring service is running on a seperate server the the BES and has its SQL database on our group SQL server.

It someone could reply to this that would be great.

I have the sam eproblem after installing a fresh BMS.. according to RIM there is can be BMS logon issues in the following situation:
Add new BES 5 servers to existing 4.x domain, add a seperate BMS (I.E. not running on the same server as BES/Installed as a remote component). You try to logon and Boom! you get the same situation. In my case I'm running BES 5 SP2 MR1.. will update when I have more into.

thanks Zippy,

This is a nightmare. The server it is running on has IE 8 and is a fully working VM. I cant find a solution on the net anywhere.

Cheers for your response

You probably already checked this but do you have BMS pointing to your BES db?

leob,

During BMS install it wont let you proceed unless you enter the correct db for the BES. So yes this is pointing to the correct db.

This service was working fine but we had to re run the setup because the netbios name of the server BMS was pointing to was invalid. Internal IP DNS problem which we have now resolved.

Rim seems to think this is the problem:
KB24347-Unable to log in to the BlackBerry Monitoring Console

It looks like they have an expired cert in one of their packages... And if you try to install a 5.0.2 Monitoring console after Sept 4 you'll run into this issue. I tried workaound 1 and it did'nt work.. if I hear of anything that works I'll let you know

I had the same issue and i performed a clean install but before you select the option to start services set the system date to Sept 1. Start the services and the webkeystore will generate with a 9/1 date. Then set your date to the proper setting.

LOL - just saw the RIM KB and Option 2 is what I'm referring to. We (RIM and I) never could generate a working keystore file.
