Default Merge BES 4.0.2

I've inherited a BES Small Business installed on Exchange 2003 server and a second standard BES on a stand alone server using the same Exhange 2003 server.
My goal is to merge the two onto the stand alone BES, upgrade to 4.0.7 and use the migration tool to move everyone to a new server with BES 5.0.2.
I don't have support.
Is this possible? How?

Thanks in advance.

Best way is to install BES 5 on standalone server and once running and tested move BES 4.0 users to the new server.

BES 4.0 must be at SP7 to use transporter.

Stated better,
Can I merge two BES different SRPs where one is a Small Business?
If they can be merged, how?

Very simple, I assume when you say 4.0.7 you really mean 4.1.7? I believe the transporter tool requires 4.1 or higher. Also your devices must all be on 4.5 or higher.

KB18692 - How to migrate users to BES 5.0 using BlackBerry Enterprise transporter

Are the two 4.x servers pointing to the same db? Same domain? If so, I have read that from BlackBerry Manager if you can see both servers, its as simple as click and drag.

Here is another link talking about the transporter tool when using 4.x

Hope this helps a bit

I'm gathering that they are on separate BlackBerry domains (separate databases). If that is the case, then I would assess how many users are on the BESP (can't be too many) and possibly look at migrating them manually (wipe the device, reactivate on the new BES). To answer the question, there's no simple way of merging two databases without potentially having a lot of issues. RIM used to have a tool called DBMerge (and another), but they ultimately learned their lesson (which is why BB Transporter now functions correctly). If there are no duplicate UserId numbers for the users, then DBMerge would work just fine (although I'm not sure in the case of BESP and BESX - something tells me no). However, on smaller installations where there has been little to no employee turnover, the chances of having two sets of unique IDs is slim to none.
