Default Encryption algorithm

Hi..

I'm unable to change Encryption algorithm from AES and DES (Default) to DES. Getting "The request could not be completed" error on top of the console. Environment is BES 5.0.1 MR2. can anyone tell me what could be the reason and where to look for log/s. I can see following error in BAS-AS log.

The log data you've posted doesn't seem to have anything relevant to changing encryption key support.

First off, may I ask why you're looking to do such a thing?

Hi Hdawg, I wanted to cahnge this because the old BES was on 3DES. later i learnt how the encryption works (So i'm not going to change this now). also i was getting same error when i tried to change MDS instance. However found that the BES service account was not having Server Admin access on SQL. After assigning Server Admin access to BES service account, i am able to change encryption type and MDS instance too.

Cheers!!
