Default BESX/Multiple Exchange Servers & OU's

Ok, I went to the Blackberry Support forums with no help. Let's see what you guys can do.

Same domain, different organization units, multiple exchange servers. I had zero problems activating my device, however I cannot activate other devices.

(I have removed company identification for security purposes)

I've highlighted the differences.

When running IEMSTest against my account, I get this:

D:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Utility>iemstes

When running IEMSTest against a account I wish to activate:

Now, furthermore I've attempted to change the Microsoft Exchange Server name in which the MAPI profile looks to from what the original is (in this case, EXCHANGESERVER1) to say (EXCHANGESERVER2). And the error is that it cannot resolve the hostname.

I can ping EXCHANGESERVER2 by name, and by IP fine. However, it is not found via BES.

Suggestions?

Make sure that you have the proper permissions set for each Exchange Server you wish to activate users on. That seems to be the issue.

MAPi is very old and probably uses WINS by default rather than DNS.

Have you tried using the FQDN of EXCHANGESERVER2 when modifying the MAPI profile. Or perhaps check you can do a "net view \\EXCHANGESERVER2" from a command prompt to make sure name resolution is working.

Default This is almost identical to my problem

Hi

We have an EBS setup with BES Express 5.0.2 installed on the same server as the Exchange component.

When I run the IEMSTest tool I also get a failure with the CDO. I have ran a successful net view as you would expect with the BES and Exchange sharing the same server.

If its permissions that are still an issue then I have no idea were the problem lies.

Any assistance appreciated

see above that where it says "Name2: Failed to create a folder in mailbox". that means it doesnt have write access to the mailbox.

Hi RadHaz75, I probably caused a bit of confusion by saying my error was almost identical to that above. Its only the CDO part that fails. See below.

All folders appear to be created correctly. The services originally were running under the domain admin account however I have changed the services to now run under the BESAdmin account however im struggling to get the Blackberry Mail Store Service to run under the BESAdmin account as this fails to start.

Im not sure how relevent it is but I have a lot of Kerberos errors in the logs. Additionaly when I try to Activate devices the email with the .dat attachment remains in the users mailbox.

Any help greatfully appreaciated as ive been working on this for days without making progress.
