Default Unresolved Status - Unknown Device (BES 5.0.1)

Trying to push a RIM app (RIM MVS Client) to a number of Blackberries. Most are working fine, however, a few "new" Blackberries show "Unknown Device" in Resoved Status. These Blackberries are the newer Sprint 8530 Curve2 models.

Updated the device.xml and vendor.xml files to the shared AppLoader dir, same dir structure where the shared apps to push are located. No change.

I have seen a KB out there about the BAS updating these files (checking) once an hour -- but see no details on how the BAS would do that. Our RIM SE said that the BAS needs port 443 access (again, no docs supporting that) -- but, he also claims one can update the files manually in the AppLoader dir.

Not working. Anyone run into this issue?

Other things we have tried:

- Recreate the software configuration -- nada
- Install a very recent BB OS package on shared dir structure, effectively adding a new device/vendor .xml file(s) -- nada

Read a post about having to update two tables in the shared SQL dB -- yuck....

Thoughts anyone??

In 4.1 you have to make sure you run loader.exe /reindex after you update the device and vendor xml as this is the only time they are read. I don't think that indexing is still needed in 5.0 but it is still performed in the background.

I'd try deleting your share and recreating it after you validated that you have the most recent vendor and device xml's.
