Dear All,

I came to know recently that all the BES v4.1 certifications will be retired on Sep 2010 and we will have to retake the replacement exams.

Can anyone guide me about the Bcp 610 exam or bcp 420 is it similar to bcp 410 exam or more changes?

I recently passed the bcp 410 exam but came to know that it will expire soon and i have to keep up with it so thought of asking you guys if anyone can guide me what more to study to appear for 420 if its different from 410.

the exams are similar ... realizing that new content is introduced. Read through the list of items to study, and review the install and admin guides for 5.0 and you should get through with no problem if you previously passed the 4.1 exams.

Any guidelines for 610 exams. Any ideas what sort of questions and scenarios are asked in the exam.

It is long ago since I did BCX-610 for Exchange, but basically you will get some scenarios and based on these scenarios you will have to answer the questions. It is almost two years ago since I took that exam, therefore I can't really remember what they asked in detail.

Edit: If I were you, I would wait a few weeks and take the BCX-620 exam - as long as you have experience with BES 5.0. If not, then go with BCP-610.

I'm willing to take the bcp 610 exam as its not expiring rite now. Once im thorugh with this exam then it will be much easier to pass the v 5 exam as i may have an idea of the scenarios and will prepare for the same with v 5.

Only the exams for 4.1 are being retired in September. The certifications are valid for another year.

Thanks for the info Otto. I passed the bcp-610 exam two days back. It wasn't hard but the long scenarios were confusing but still it wasn't that much hard.

Hey Otto,

You have appeared for the bcsa exam for v5 as i saw it from your signature, is there more changes made to the exam or its similar with the addition of few options like HA etc.

I took it during the beta stages about a year ago, which was prior to me ever having hands-on experience with the product. I think that should tell you what you need to know about the exam. My study materials, aside from vast real world experience with BES in general, were the Administration Guide, the Features and Technology Overview, the Installation and Configuration Guide, and a small review of the Policy Reference Guide. With that said, you do NOT need experience with BES to pass the certification. With the low standards for passing, you could literally spend 3-4 hours reading the online documents that come with the product and pass the certification.

Just keep that in mind. As for particulars, I really do not remember what was included on the exam.
