I've been reading a lot of forums and have yet to see one person say they were able to get BESX running on an Exchange server.

This is very frustrating. I've worked with BES for years and none of the techniques/tricks for troubleshooting or fixing have working. It seems that Blackberry may have falsly advertised that BESX can function on an Exchange server.

I have fully updated (Exchange 2003 w/SP2 and all fixes as well as Win2k3 R2 w/SP2 and all updates through today.)

If anyone has found a way to get this to work, I'd really appreciate hearing from you.

Indeed it does work perfectly fine.

What doesn't work? Where does the install fail?
