Default Development

Hi,

I'm new to the Port3101 forums, but have a few generic questions regarding development on the Blackberry platform. Also, I apologize if I'm on the wrong thread for this question.

Anywho, I work for a company that wants to take different pieces of data, more than likely from .txt files, and connect them to an Blackberry application that can be sent out to the field and constantly reviewed by the sales force. Things such as accounts receivable information, accounts payable, sales for a customer, any customer service calls, etc. We may also need to setup a panel or app that would allow the sales force to make notes on a customer and have those come back. What would be needed for the development environment setup to do this? From what I've found so far it is Java and web development, do I need to pick, or is there something else that I'm missing? We have a Blackberry enterprise server of course. This is a whole new realm for me, so I hope you don't mind the basic questions.

Thanks in advance.

As you're just getting into development with BlackBerry you should start on their site (BlackBerry - BlackBerry Developer Zone) to get a basic understanding.
