The slow-sync process runs on its own once every 24 hours.
You may need to wait for that to happen before that error message clears.

This is an older post sorry but I would like clairification. I'm also on BES 5.0 with MR3

To resolve this, does one simply have to install the latest BES 5.0 which appears to be SP1 MR3, or do you HAVE to request the script and run it?

Put another way, will upgrading resolve this?

We are having this problem with 1 of our 800 users that we know of.

from reading the KB the issue is only with this specific version of BES ... I haven't read the release notes to see if this is resolved. I would recommend applying the script in the linked KB article and then applying any further patches.

After contacting RIM they suggested to upgrade the BES to the latest version. I am now on build 5.0.1.58 (5 sp1 MR3) and the problem still exists for this one user.

Here is what we have tried:
- Upgraded BES
- Removed / Added User many many times
- Tried to activate with different blackberry devices
- tried to activate while connected to the BAS by cable, tried wifi, tried cellular. No difference.
- Moved Exchange Mailbox from one mailbox store to another on the same server. No problems with mailbox. There are other users with blackberry devices on this server that work just fine.
- Opened the mailbox using the besadmin account and there are no problems with permissions
- Tried assigning a custom agent to the user and activating. One thing I noticed is that all threads get hung and even when deleting the user from the BES, the agent will remain "stuck" active instead of shutting down.
-We have two BES using the same DB. tried the Other BES (same upgraded version) and same problem.

Options remaining.
- We COULD export the mailbox, delete it and recreate a new one and import the data, but we would have to deal with some issues this would create, such as when co-workers email this user using cached entry in Outlook they will get an NDR. This is an executive so we cannot do this easily.

What about if you move the mailbox to a different store?

I created a new store and moved that mailbox. Issue still present. That surprised me.

I then moved the mailbox to another exchange server. Only choice was move it to a server in another administrative group. The problem went away after that.

I have compared the security settings in ESM and ADUC for the two servers and they are identical. This looks like a permissions issue (only with contacts?) but the error message pointed to DB issues.

Thanks all for the help and replies.

Default Same error, BES 5.1 SP1

This is so weird, i remember when this first happened when moving to SP1, well, this is happening again but for one user only. I initially deleted the BES account and recreated it to no avail. I made sure the contacts folders was in the right spot which it was. I did all sorts of troubleshooting but nothing.

If i do activate the device with that error present everything goes fine, all contacts and emails are loaded but at some point some of them will come back but then be gone again.

I decided to recreate the entire user's account and mailbox on a new server and give it a shot, but still, same error pops up. All the permissions are correct, IEMSTEST returned everything successful.

I hit a wall and dont know of anything else i can do to try and fix this issue. Any help will truly be appreciated, thank you.
