Default BES 5.0 and Exchange MAPI

Hi There,

RIM's documentation reccomends installing Exchange 2007 MAPI support via the most recent Exchange 2007 Compliant MAPI CDO package. Is there every a case/situation where you would want to get MAPI support for your sever via the Exchange 2007 management tools?

One would think the version of MAPI that came with the tools would be more robust, no? I recently discovered that on one on my servers was installed with Exchange 2007 tools and I'm wondering if I should remove and replace with MAPI CDO or not.

Just wondering what everyone's experiences are.

Regards,
Z

Because the E2K7 tools do not install MAPI.

Should this package be installed on both the Exchange 2007 Server and the BES Server?

Great! Thanks. So what files do the mapi and cdo dll's on the BES server tie into on the Exchange server? I'm running an older version of the CDO file, like two revisions older than 6.5.8069. I'd like to upgrade the version on the BES server but I want to verify that we are at a level high enough on the Exchange servers to support it.

Or am i just missing the point and the latest version of mapi and cdo are delivered based on the version of Exchange. ie Ex2007 SP2 is most compatible with the updated version of the MAPI/CDO package.
