Default SRP Connection dropped

Dear all,

I am having big problems with our BES 5.0 (MR3), I hope someone has had similar issues, because I have been searching the internet for days until now without finding a solution.

My major problem is, that activating a blackberry device takes about 12 hours (before we were using Professional software and this took about 30 minutes). Furthermore sending an e-mail from the device only succeeds everyt third try as well as using the blackberry browser runs on error most tries (the providers browser works well...).

I guess this is because of our SRP-connection is instable and I cannot find a solution for this: In the windows-event-log (as well as in the DISP-Log) the Blackberry Dispatcher tells me with event-id 50096 "Connection established". 10 seconds later I get event-id 50097 "Connection dropped, Error=0, Reason=3 Other connection authenticated".

The DISP-Log says the following:
[50096] (11/04 00:04:50.768):{0xC7C} [SRP] Dispatcher\SRP Connection established
[30000] (11/04 00:05:07.939):{0xC78} [SRP] Received SRP Disconnect command reason=3 NewConnectionReceivedLastConnectionWins
[30000] (11/04 00:05:07.939):{0x1A1C} [DIAG] EVENT=Unregister_thread, THREADID=0x1A1C, THREADNAME="SRPClientReceiver"
[50097] (11/04 00:05:07.939):{0xC7C} [SRP] Dispatcher\SRP Connection dropped, Error=0, Reason=3 Other connection authenticated
[30490] (11/04 00:05:07.939):{0xC7C} Health score: Health=0x000000073310150F
[30000] (11/04 00:05:07.939):{0xC7C} [SRP] Connection lost

We are running one single BES on a dedicated server (no second or Standby-instances), the "test connection"-button in the configuration manager tells me everything is fine, the BBSrpTest.exe-util too.

Has anybody an idea?

Greetings,
Jens

The above looks almost as if the same SRP is being used elsewhere. Of course, it could be the unstable connection dropping and reconnecting (thus forcing the disconnect of the stale previous connection). That seems quite odd with only a single connection, though. I'm assuming that you're not dropping packets to srp.eu.blackberry.com if you run a constant PING against it? I definitely think taking the approach of resolving this issue with the SRP then moving on to the activation delays is the best route to take (assuming the latter is not resolved once the connectivity issues are resolved).

Dear Otto,

I should have posted this earlier, you gave me the final hint. Ping was ok, not perfect (maybe dropping every 30th packet) - but yesterday evening I tried the SRP from the former BPS and now everything is working.

The new SRP was given to me by our service provider together with the BES-CALs, I estimated, I had to use the new one (no idea how the RIM-network works at that point).

Thanks a lot for your post and your help!

Greetings,
Jens
