Default Installing Resource kit admin client

Hello,

Anyone able to help me with this?

BES 5.0
Exchange 2003
Server 2003 E

All BES components are on one box

1. When installing it asks for DNS name of the administration service? I used "host name of my bb.domain name: port number" is this right?

2. I made an admin account using the webconsole and named it BASSYS

I try a command and get

(10/21 14:59:09.595):{main} [com.rim.bes.brk.besuseradmin.BESUserAdminMain] [INFO] [BUA-3000] {BASSYS:33733d0} Authenticating

...

(10/21 15:00:15.764):{main} [com.rim.bes.brk.besuseradmin.BESUserAdminMain] [INFO] [BUA-3000] {BASSYS:33733d0} ... could not

authenticate.

(10/21 15:00:15.811):{main} [com.rim.bes.brk.besuseradmin.BESUserAdminMain] [ERROR] [BUA-3003] {BASSYS:33733d0} Internal erro

r: java.lang.Exception: Error while searching for required Authentication plug-in

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't need to put a port number, I wouldn't imagine. Here are my instructions for my QA environment:

Installation – BlackBerry User Administration Tool

NOTE: This can be installed on a workstation or server that is not a BlackBerry-related server
- Install Java Runtime Environment 5.0
- Run jre-1_5_0_19-windows-i586-p.exe from \Installations\ResourceKit
- Install BlackBerry User Administration Tool
- Run brk-besuseradminx5.0.0.54.msi from \Installations\ResourceKit\5.0.0.54
- Click Yes when prompted to insert jvm.dll to the PATH system environment variable
- On the Wizard introduction screen, click Next
- Change Country/Region to United States
- Select ‘I accept’ and click Next
- For DNS name, type bbadmqa-us.domain.com
- For the SSL keystore location, select C:\Program Files\Research In Motion
- For the SSL keystore password, type in a unique password and click Next
- For the Destination Folder, leave the default and click Next
- Click Install
- On the DOS screen, press any key to continue
- Click Finish

Thanks for taking time to respond Otto. I'll give this a shot and see what happens. Cheers
