Where is the Blackberry MDS certificate??????
I am nearly done with this Blackberry 4.1.6 setup, but I am now stuck on the MDS part of it. I have been reading the following docs:
Generate a self-signed certificate for the BlackBerry MDS Integration Service
View Document 0 131284022
And NONE of them say where the hell I find this self signed certificate. Can someone please explain to me where I can get this .cer file from. If I had I could then imprt it. I am assuming you generate it from somewhere.
That 1st link seems to explain it well, only one problem there, where the hell is the "Blackberry Administration service and this "Blackberry Solution Topology"????
Its driving me insane please can someone put me out of my misery

Question: Are you going to be using MDS-IS at all?
That said, you don't need to create a certificate for the MDS-IS installation; it is done for you. However, don't install MDS-IS if you don't need it (I'm guessing you don't need it)
MDS-IS is NOT MDS-CS (which was called MDS with BES 4.0.x)

These are related to BES 5.0, and don't apply to your BES 4.1 environment, which is why you're having difficulty finding them.

On BES 4.1.6, click on the MDS-IS object in BlackBerry Manager, click View Certificate, and following the instructions.

Hi, The MDS -IS serice is stopping instantly as started. MDSS logs as below. Any solutions?? Since the requirement is to push Java applications to the devices I have to use MDS-IS. Environment is BES 5.0.1 MR2.

You don't need MDS-IS to push applications. MDS-CS + Policy Service pushes the app.

Hi Hdawg,
I'm trying to push google maps and other applications to devices. But the applications are not recieved on the devices. I dont see any errors in BES logs. The policies are being pushed to the devices without any issues. I did contact RIM and i was adviced that without MDS IS we can't push applications.
I was able to add applications, create software configuration and link software configurations to users (without any errors/warnings).
Any thoughts or advices?

Do you see it on the other applications tab? Click on the eye icon there. It will likely tell you why it wasn't delivered.
