Default BES 5 and Exchange 2007 in native mode

Has anyone been able to get this working? I have a 4.1.6 instance that works fine with exchange 2007 in full native mode(no public folders). I am trying to bring up a 5.0 system but and having nothing but troubles. I was wondering if anyone has done this successfully.

Thanks.

You will not get full functionality from BES 5 or BES 4.1 for that matter without Public Folders.

What isn't working? What errors are you getting

Read: KB15582 - BES may not work correctly in Exchange 2007 without public folders

While it says the KB is for 4.1.x only the public folder requirement is much the same for 5.x

I understand that I will not get full functionality without public folders. I realize what I have to do, including the article you mentioned, to get it working with 4.1. I applied all the known changes and work around's but still can not open the message store under 5.0.

No matter what I try I always get the following with 5.0 yet it works fine with 4.1.

BlackBerry Enterprise Server Utility - IEMSTest.exe (IExchangeManageStore), Version 1.0

OpenMsgStore() for this profile failed (8004011d)

It is also important to know that the BES server is being installed on a 64 bit W2008 OS. Also the registry key noted in KB15582 is located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem\CDO and NOT HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem\CDO as the article implies.

In order to rule out this difference I tried installing a clean 5.0 instance on a 32 bit W2003 box and ended up having the same results.

I would love to hear from someone who has actually gotten this running.

Thanks again.

Have you tried putting the key in the location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem\CDO

I would venture a guess that this key may not have been properly implemented with BES 5

I did try that as well. Still no luck. One thing to note is that the location of the key is dependent on the platform. That key is part of the CDO 1.2.1 install and gets installed in that location on a 64 bit OS. On a 32 bit OS the location remains in the normal spot.
