Two point win by the Dawgs dammit. Every time the Gators crawl back into the top 25, they get beat. Congrats to the Dawgs. (And were you actually watching some roundball Dawg? )

Looks like we've hired Tommy Thigpen from UNC as our LB coach. Big time recruiter. He accounted for five 4-star recruits for the Tarheels this season (and another two 3-stars and one 2-star). Not bad.

Auburn men's swimming team won the SEC, again. Auburn women's finished a close second to Florida, both of who beat the #1 ranked Bulldogs.

so I guess the talk of swimming and women's basketball must have stalled the thread?

Bowden could very well end up 15 games behind Paterno going into these pre-retirement years. I believe the overall record is one thing that has kept these two going, so this may very well be what Bowden needs to happen to go ahead and retire.

I think Bowden will do one more year and then retire. He has to retire after no more than two years, or they have to write a check to Jimbo for five million.

More Lane Kiffin nonsense.
Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin had some stinging last words for Alshon Jeffrey, one of the nation's top wide receivers, according to ESPN.com. Jeffrey of St. Matthews, S.C., signed with South Carolina last month after an intense recruiting battle with Southern Cal and Tennessee. According to ESPN's Chris Lowe, "Kiffin told Jeffrey that if he chose the Gamecocks, he would end up pumping gas for the rest of his life like all the other players from that state who had gone to South Carolina."

Kiffin, Kiffin, Kiffin. *shakes head* LOL! I can't wait until the football season, to be honest. Kiffin has a TON of talent, but if UT does the same as they have, especially with an early season home loss to Auburn, I cannot wait to see this guy absolutely roasted by the Vols faithful.

Auburn is up on Florida by 5 points with 25 seconds left. Looks like we're going to knock the Gators out of the NCAA tourney and might be booking our trip. This makes 9 wins in the last 10 games. AUSOME!

UT dropped AU today. Looks like we may be heading to the NIT, as well. Although we could land that last at-large spot in the NCAA tourney.

Auburn and Florida pull #1 seeds in the NIT. As many good teams that were left out of the NCAA tournament, this is going to be one good NIT tourney.

Auburn and Florida both into the Quarterfinals of the NIT.
Auburn (RPI: 64) vs Baylor (RPI: 56)
Florida (RPI: 54) vs Penn St (RPI: 70)
Should be some good matchups.

Auburn just won our 6th national championship in the past 7 years in Men's Swimming and Diving. This year was especially touching, as our head coach, the legendary Richard Quick, had to leave the team earlier in the season due to brain cancer. Quick was the head coach for legendary Olympic swimmers, such as Rowdy Gaines (commentator for NBC this past Olympics), Jenny Thompson, Steve Lundquist, and Summer Sanders. He took over the program after our previous coach, David Marsh, took over responsibilities at the U.S. Olympic Committee Center.
It goes without saying that this championship was dedicated to Coach Quick. As much pain that he has felt, I'm sure he has a smile on his face tonight.

Well, the men's championships in addition to the women's championships... we've won 11 of 20 national championships in the last decade with both sports combined. Now that is a dynasty
But back onto football, my tickets for Auburn's A-Day game came in today. It's always nice to be able to spend a Spring Saturday in Auburn watching the football team in Jordan-Hare. It's like a little teaser to last me for another week or two ...and all for $5 per ticket (we ordered 6 of them)

2009 G-DAY GAME - APRIL 11, 2009 - 1:00 PM - NATIONALLY TELEVISED ON ESPN-TV!
Wed 9:26pmDear Bulldawg Nation,
2009 G-Day Game Red vs. Black - Nationally Televised (ESPN)
Athens, GA
April 11th
1:00 pm
April 11th. Save the date. We need every single fan to treat this game just like the regular season. This is a nationally televised event. This will be the only FOOTBALL GAME on that day! UF had roughly 50,000 people last year. Alabama had 72,000 and it wasn't on TV. Our game will be nationally televised!
Recruits and the NATION will be watching. We need to show up in record numbers. IF you CARE, BE THERE!!!
Georgia will hold a canned food drive at the April 11 G-Day game to benefit The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. Barrels will be put in place at the gates to collect cans from fans. Let's fill the stadium to capacity and show the nation that the Red & Black is coming! Go Dawgs! Sic Em!
Forever Bleeding the Red & Black,
THE BULLDAWG NATION

Percy Harvin tested positive for marijuana. Honestly, how stupid can a person be? You hear about this year in and year out... it's really sad.

Looks to be just a rumor, but who really knows... there's a lot of major accusations this draft so far.

Nebraska had over 80,000, and attendance was $10/ticket, not free like Alabama's. Georgia had just under 20,000 last year, and Auburn had 35,000. Good luck to everyone in getting those fans out for the spring games!
