Anyone seen it yet? We went to see it in the theatre on Friday night and then watched the DVD screener (original cut) last night. I must say, it didn't frighten me all that much during either screening, but it's that after-thought that really got me. I had to cover up when sleeping. I had to turn on lights when walking into dark areas of the house. LOL! It's been a while since I've had a movie 'scare' me like this...

The original cut of the movie had a different ending (suggested by Steven Speilberg, no less) and a few additional scenes that were cut from the theatrical version (the latter had one noticeable scene that was filmed later on). Nevertheless, if you can download the screener, I would recommend watching it as well as the version in the theatre. Both have their moments.

This movie became the most profitable of all-time this weekend with an ROI of an estimated 416,413.33% following this weekend's $22m take! WOW!

Saw bits and pieces of it at a Halloween party last night. The stuff I saw didn't seem as scary as I thought it would be, but I can easily see people after seeing the movie turning on lights and stuff. Will have to watch the whole thing when I get a chance.

Not sure what version it was, I saw the ending with rocking back and forth and cops, missed the part right before it though.

Yeah, that's the original ending. The theatrical ending is a little more "'RWAH!' scare ya!" type thing. The movie does an excellent job at drawing you in, even though you know something is going to happen. Sometimes it's nothing and other times it startles the shit out of you. That's the ultimate beauty of this film.

...the actors were paid a total of $1,500. This was the main two characters, the spiritualist, the friend, and the two cops (that you saw in that scene but were cut from the theatrical edit). That's incredible!

My son and I went to see that Movie over the weekend and IMHO, it was the biggest waste of time/$ that we've ever spent. Sure there were some good spots like the girl being dragged out of bed but other then that, him and I were the only ones in the entire theater. Even the manager said they were pulling it because after the first weekend, they had 2 full showings and then all they heard was negative feedback.
