Michael Jackson dead at 50!
Michael Jackson dies at 50 - USATODAY.com
Say what you want about him. He was one of the greatest musical entertainers and artists of all time. He revolutionized R&B when he was a child and revolutionized Pop as an adult. While I don't agree with the last 15 years of his life, this is certainly a sad day.

It is almost universally sad when someone passes early

I enjoy quite a bit of his music, and has pictures of him all over my bedroom when I was a teenager.
My favorite albums were Thriller and Off The Wall.
Very sad day. Maybe now he can get some peace and quite.

My first memory of purchasing music was going in to Woolworths as a kid and buying 'Bad' on vinyl. I certainly collected a lot of his music over the years.
My bookie has 6/1 odds on all of the top ten UK singles for this weekend being Michael Jackson tunes - says it all.

OK. He was a kiddie diddler, and I think his death is way over-sensationalized in the media.

Perhaps he was, we'll never know, but 50 is no age - my dad's 63, it scares the shit out of me.

Unfair comparison for your dad. I sincerely doubt MJ died of natural causes at this age. Even if it's never admitted in public, we all know this wackjob was pumping himself full of Demerol and god knows what other meds.
I'm sure your dad will live a long and healthy life. I see no reason reason to get freaked out over this.

True I know, but it just gets you thinking.
Demerol is known as Pethidine in the UK, and generally referred to as the dirty drug of labour. It's pretty common for women to use this as pain relief during labour, but only for a short duration and not ongoing of course. It takes a new born baby 6 weeks to process and dispose of it due to undeveloped kidneys, often resulting in lethargic babies who don't want to feed in the interim.
I've received twice as much email today than usual, many comprising of the envitible MJ jokes!

Ok, he contributed a lot to the world of music, but geez. Give it a rest.
Although, it did bury the Jon & Kate headlines. Speaking of mental.....

I couldn't agree more. There are so much worse things going on in the world right now. People die every day why does a child molester matter so much.
Hes just another sick man who happened to be famous and got away with it due to his fame.
