KB16450 - Unable to view email messages in HTML format on the BlackBerry smartphone after applying BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1.6 for Novell GroupWise

Environment

* BlackBerry® Device Software 4.3 and earlier
* BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.1 Service Pack 6 (4.1.6) for Novell® GroupWise®
* BlackBerry smartphones

Overview

In a BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1 Service Pack 4 (4.1.4) environment, email messages composed in HTML format rather than plain text format are sent to the BlackBerry smartphone as blank email messages with an attachment of the email message in HTML format.

After upgrading to BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1.6, BlackBerry smartphone users receive a blank email message without the attachment.

Resolution

This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
