KB10411 - Database Login failed using the trusted credentials
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.1 to 4.1 SP6
Overview
When opening the BlackBerry Manager, you receive the following error message: Database Login failed using the trusted credentials
Cause
This issue may be caused by one of the following:
- The Microsoft® XML Parser is not installed, is not configured correctly, or it is out of date.
- The Microsoft® SQL Server® service is not started.
- The BlackBerry Enterprise Server is pointing to the wrong BlackBerry Configuration Database.
Resolution
Complete the appropriate resolution for your cause.
Cause 1
The Microsoft XML Parser is not installed, is not configured correctly, or it is out of date.
Resolution
For BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1, complete the following steps:
- Download Microsoft XML Parser 4.0 Service Pack 2 from the Microsoft Download Center.
- Install Microsoft XML Parser 4.0 Service Pack 2.
For BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1.2, complete the following steps:
- Remove Microsoft XML Parser 4.0 Service Pack 2.
- From the BlackBerry Enterprise Server installation package, go to the Tools folder and run the msxml.msi file.
Cause 2
The Microsoft SQL Server service is not started.
Resolution
- To open the Windows® Services, open the Control Panel and then click Administrative Tools > Services.
- Right-click on the Microsoft SQL Server service and click Start.
Cause 3
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server is pointing to the wrong BlackBerry Configuration Database.
Resolution
- To open the BlackBerry Server Configuration panel, click Start > Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server > BlackBerry Server Configuration.
- On the Database Connectivity tab, select Change Database and specify the correct BlackBerry Configuration Database.
- Open the BlackBerry Manager.
