KB16434 - The selected Microsoft Outlook profile does not exist error during a wired synchronization
Environment
- BlackBerry® Desktop Manager 4.3
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server for Microsoft® Exchange
- BlackBerry smartphones
- Microsoft® Outlook®
Overview
During a wired synchronization, the following error is displayed in BlackBerry Desktop Manager:
The selected Microsoft Outlook profile does not exist you will have to reconfigure Microsoft Outlook
Cause
The synchronization is not associated with a Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) profile.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, associate a MAPI profile with the synchronization by completing the following steps:
- Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer.
- Open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
- Open the Synchronize application.
- Click on the Configuration tab.
- Click on the Configure sync button.
- Select the organizer item, and click Setup.
- Select the desktop application, and click Next.
- Select the synchronization options, and click Next.
- Select the MAPI profile, and click Next.
- Click Finish.
- Click OK.
- Select the Synchronize tab, and click Synchronize now. Make sure that Synchronize Organizer Data is checked.
Note: The warning message Data Source has changed. Folder mapping may need refreshing may appear after selecting the MAPI profile. Click OK to refresh the folder mapping.
