KB10345 - Configure maximum number of days for BES debug logs
KB10345 - Configure maximum number of days for BlackBerry Enterprise Server debug log files
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software versions 4.0 and 4.1
Overview
Background
BlackBerry Enterprise Server log files can be used to identify and troubleshoot problems with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and its components. You can specify the number of days that these log files are stored on the server.
To specify the number of days that the log files are stored on the server, complete the following steps:
- Open the BlackBerry Server Configuration Panel by selecting Start > Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server > BlackBerry Server Configuration.
- Select the Logging tab.
- Under each category, specify the desired number of days for Debug Log Maximum Daily File Age. The recommended number is 30 days.
Additional Information
Only log files created after this modification will be automatically deleted by the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Pre-existing log files will not be automatically deleted.
Only log files in the Logs folder will be deleted and not the entire daily folder. Phone call, Short Message Service (SMS), and personal identification number (PIN) logging may be enabled. These log files cannot have a custom daily file age. Phone call logging is enabled by default.
