Environment
- BlackBerry® Client for use with Microsoft® Office Communications Server 2007
- BlackBerry® Device Software 4.1 or later
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 4.1 SP6
Overview
A BlackBerry smartphone user is unable to log in to Microsoft® Office Communicator 2007 on the BlackBerry smartphone using a version earlier than BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 version 2.1.
The following error appears in the BBIM logs:
<2008-08-14 16:30:06.954 PDT>:[250]:::@domain.com, Login request denied; device client is not compatible with OCS 2007>
Cause
BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 version 2.1 was designed specifically for use with BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 4.1 SP6 and Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007. Earlier versions of BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 are not compatible.

To download BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007, visit www.blackberry.com/support/downloads and click BlackBerry Enterprise Instant Messaging.
