Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.0 and later for IBM® Lotus® Domino®
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.0 and later for Microsoft® Exchange
- Microsoft® Exchange Server 2000 and 2003
Overview
When adding a BlackBerry smartphone user account, you receive the following error:
This function is unavailable because the mail store adapter DLL has failed to initialize
Cause
The Windows® account does not have the required permissions to add BlackBerry smartphone user accounts.
Resolution
Before trying to add the BlackBerry smartphone user account again, perform one of the following tasks:
- Add the appropriate permissions to the Windows account in use
- Switch to another Windows account that has the required permissions
