KB11379 - Unable to open the default message store when using BlackBerry Manager
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.1
Overview
When BlackBerry Manager is started, an error message is received indicating that the default message store cannot be opened.
Cause
The Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) profile is configured incorrectly.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, complete the following steps:
Warning: The following procedure involves modifying the computer registry. This can cause substantial damage to the Windows® operating system. Document and back up the registry entries prior to implementing any changes.
- Delete the BlackBerry Manager profile from the registry by completing the following steps:
- Open the Registry Editor and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Blackberry Manager.
- From the Profiles folder, right-click the profile name that is used for the BlackBerry Manager and export it. This action backs up the registry key.
- Once the profile has been exported successfully, delete the registry key.
- Start BlackBerry Manager.
- When prompted to create a new MAPI profile, do so.
- Type the Windows account name (the default is BESadmin).
- Type the correct Microsoft® Exchange Server name and confirm by clicking on the checked name.
