KB10285 - How to re-create the BlackBerry Enterprise Server MAPI profile
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server version 2.1 to 5.0 for Microsoft® Exchange
Overview
Warning: The following procedure requires modifying the computer registry. This can cause substantial damage to the Windows® operating system. Document and back up the existing registry entries prior to implementing any changes.
To re-create the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) profile, complete the following steps:

1.Log in to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server using the service account. >>
2.Stop the BlackBerry Enterprise Server services, and close the BlackBerry Manager if running. >>
3.Open the Registry Editor and go toHKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\. >>
4.Right-click on the Profiles folder and select "Export". Give this backup file a name and save it. Once the BlackBerry Enterprise Server is back up and running properly, this file can be deleted.
5. Right-click on the Profiles folder and select "Delete". Click 'Yes' when prompted to confirm deletion of this key and its subkeys.
> 6.Close the Registry Editor.

7.Create a new MAPI profile using the steps outlined below for the appropriate software version of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
8.Start the BlackBerry Enterprise Server services.

To create a new MAPI profile, perform the steps for the appropriate software version of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 2.1
- Go to Start > Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server > Edit BES MAPI Profile.
- Type the name of the Microsoft® Exchange Server and the BlackBerry Enterprise Server administration mailbox name.
- Click Check Name.
- Click Apply > OK.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server software versions 3.5 and 3.6
- Go to Start > Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server > Edit MAPI Profile for.
- For each of the MAPI profiles perform the following tasks:
- Select the profile.
- Type the name of the Microsoft Exchange Server and the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account mailbox name.
- Click Check Name and verify that the profile resolves.
- Click Apply > OK.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.0
- Go to Start > Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server > BlackBerry Server Configuration.
- On the BlackBerry Server tab, click Edit MAPI Profile (see screenshot below):

- Type the name of the Microsoft Exchange Server and the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account mailbox name.
- Click Check Name.
- Click Apply > OK.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1
- Go to Start > Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server > BlackBerry Server Configuration.
- On the BlackBerry Server tab, click Edit MAPI Profile (see screenshot below):

- Type the name of the Microsoft Exchange Server and the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account mailbox name in the appropriate fields.
- Click Check Name. The service account name will now be underlined.
- Click Apply > OK.
- Open BlackBerry Manager. When a dialog box appears stating that the MAPI Profile "BlackBerryManager" does not exist, click OK.
- Repeat steps 3 through 5 above.
BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 5.0
- Go to Start > Programs > BlackBerry Enterprise Server > BlackBerry Server Configuration.
- On the BlackBerry Server tab, click Edit MAPI Profile (see screenshot below):

- Type the name of the Microsoft Exchange Server and the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account mailbox name.
- Click Check Name.
- Click Apply > OK.

Additional Information
To determine which service account the BlackBerry Enterprise Server is using, complete the following steps:
For BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 3.6
- Go to Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Services.
- Select the BlackBerry Server service.
- Right-click and select Properties.
- Click the Log On tab.
- The name specified in the Account field is the service account.
For BlackBerry Enterprise Server software versions 4.0-5.0
- Go to Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Services.
- Select the BlackBerry Dispatcher service.
- Right-click and select Properties.
- Click the Log On tab.
- The name specified in the Account field is the service account.
