Environment
Overview
The new message indicator does not indicate when new messages are received.
Cause
The new message indicator may be set to No.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, complete the following steps:
- Verify that the new message indicator is set to Yes by clicking Email > Options > General Settings.
- Perform a Hard Reset of the BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions, see KB02141.
- Change the Theme of the BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions, see KB10840.
- Back up the data on the BlackBerry smartphone. For instuctions, see KB12487.
- Perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry® Device Software. For instructions, see KB11320.
- Restore the data that was backed up in step 4 to the BlackBerry smartphone. For instructions, see KB10339.
