KB16269 - Unable to install the BlackBerry Monitoring Service

Environment

* BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.1 Service Pack 6 (4.1.6)

Problem

You are unable to install the BlackBerry Monitoring Service.

Cause

The BlackBerry Enterprise Server installation folder is not in the default location.

Resolution

The BlackBerry Monitoring Service is located in the BlackBerry Enterprise Server upgrade or installation folder. In most cases, this folder is installed and the installation is run from the C: drive on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. In this instance, if you want to to install the BlackBerry Monitoring Service, go to the upgrade or installation folder and run the installation. The default location is C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server \Tools.

In some cases, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server upgrade or installation folder is saved to the desktop. To install the BlackBerry Monitoring Service in this way, browse to this location and run the BlackBerry Monitoring Service from there. For example, the location would be C:\Documents and Settings\\Desktop\.
