KB15943 - Some contacts are missing or duplicated on the BlackBerry smartphone with a large Novell GroupWise shared address book

Overview
When a BlackBerry smartphone user has a large Novell GroupWise address book, some contacts are missing or duplicated on the BlackBerry smartphone.
Cause
The BlackBerry Messaging Agent can not differentiate between special characters in the globally unique identifier (GUID) because the BlackBerry Messaging Agent performs lookups on the address book using the Find method. The filter expression used is case-insensitive and allows for wild card expansions. Therefore, the MbPIMSync table contains two or more columns for some address book entries and none for other address book entries.

In this case, the MbPIMSync.MessageUID is A2052364412. The MbPIMSync.MessageUID is the Refid for the message from the BlackBerry smartphone.

In this case, the Refid on the BlackBerry smartphone is 2994. The Refid is the MbPIMSync.ID for the message to the BlackBerry smartphone.
Resolution
This issue is fixed in BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Novell GroupWise 4.1 SP6 MR3. Please visit the download page to download this update.
