Default KB15755 - Unable to initialize BlackBerry smartphone user account

KB15755 - Unable to initialize BlackBerry smartphone user account

Environment

  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server for IBM® Lotus® Domino®

Overview

Cannot complete the enterprise activation process because the BlackBerry smartphone user account does not initialize.
The Lotus Domino server console and the MAGT log file show lines similar to the following:
Trying to initialize user CN=User Name/OU=Department/O=Org, with no PIN assigned (noteID:ABC)
or
Unable to initialize user User Name/Department/Org: more than one profile document found

Cause

Multiple profile documents exist for a BlackBerry smartphone user who has been deleted and re-added to the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server.

Resolution

To resolve the issue complete the following steps:
  1. Remove the BlackBerry smartphone user account from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
  2. Open the BlackBerry Profiles database and remove any existing entries for the BlackBerry smartphone user.
  3. Add the BlackBerry smartphone user to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
  4. Initiate the enterprise activation process again.
