KB05177 - Run the DataPurge utility

Environment

* BlackBerry® smartphones
* Macintosh® computers
* PocketMac® for BlackBerry® smartphones 4.0 and 4.1

Procedure

The DataPurge utility is included with PocketMac for BlackBerry smartphones 4.0 and 4.1. The DataPurge utility is designed to remove organizer data on BlackBerry smartphones.

To run the DataPurge utility, complete the following steps:

1. On the Macintosh computer, go to Macintosh HD > Users > > Library > Application Support > PocketMacSyncManager > Additional Tools.
2. Double-click DataPurge.
3. Click the organizer data to purge, then click Purge.

Additional Info

For BlackBerry smartphones with the password feature turned on, make sure that the BlackBerry smartphone password is updated in the Connection tab of the PocketMac SyncManager. For instructions on how to update the BlackBerry smartphone password in PocketMac SyncManager, see KB15798.

Note: The DataPurge utility is not included with PocketMac for BlackBerry smartphones 3.x or earlier. To download the newest version of PocketMac for BlackBerry smartphones go to www.discoverblackberry.com/mac.
