KB13455 - Email messages are removed from the BlackBerry smartphone after restoring the Messages database
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server 4.0 and 4.1 for IBM® Lotus® Domino®

Overview
The BlackBerry smartphone user was removed from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and then added again. After the Messages database was restored, email messages were removed from the BlackBerry smartphone.
Cause
After the Messages database is restored and email reconciliation occurs, the BlackBerry state database is accessed to verify the RefID of the email messages. The RefIDs cannot be found because a new state database is created when the BlackBerry smartphone user is added again to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
Resolution
In order to maintain the consistency of the state database, the BlackBerry smartphone user should not be removed from the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
