KB15756 - TeleNav application stops working on the BlackBerry smartphone with the error Invalid GPS Privacy Settings
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.1 Service Pack 2 (4.1.2)
Overview
The TeleNav® application stops working on the BlackBerry smartphone and displays the following message: Invalid GPS Privacy Settings
Cause
The Application Permissions for Global Positioning System (GPS) is set to Deny and cannot be changed by the BlackBerry smartphone user. On the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, a software configuration for the Application Control Policy set the Device GPS level to Not Permitted.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, perform the following:
- Select the affected BlackBerry smartphone user account.
- Under Device Management, select Assign Software Configuration, and then select Assign None for Software Configuration.
- Wait for the update to be pushed to the BlackBerry smartphone.
- Verify that the GPS Application Permissions on the BlackBerry smartphone can be changed to Allow or Prompt User.
