KB10408 - A brief Microsoft SQL Server service interruption should not have an impact on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.0 and later for Microsoft® Exchange
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.1 for Novell® GroupWise®
- Microsoft® SQL Server®
Overview
A brief Microsoft SQL Server service interruption should not have an impact on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. When the Microsoft SQL Server is offline, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server generates database connectivity errors.
When the Microsoft SQL Server comes online, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server connects to the Microsoft SQL Server without restarting BlackBerry Enterprise Server services.
Note: The BlackBerry Enterprise Server services must be restarted if the Microsoft SQL server remains offline.
Important: Restarting the BlackBerry Enterprise Server will delay email message delivery to BlackBerry smartphones. For more information, see KB04789.
