KB12096 - Configure the Local System account for Windows Trusted authentication on a remote BlackBerry Configuration Database
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.0 and later for IBM® Lotus® Domino®
- Microsoft® SQL Server® 2000 and 2005
Overview
To configure the Local System account for Windows® Trusted authentication on a remote BlackBerry Configuration Database, complete the following steps:
- Open the Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Manager and expand the SQL Server Group.
- Select and expand the Microsoft SQL Server hosting the BlackBerry Configuration Database.
- Expand the Security folder.
- Right-click Logins.
- Click New Login.
- Type the name of the computer hosting the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server installation using the form \$.
- Click Windows Authentication.
- Click the Server Roles tab.
- Select the required roles.
- Click OK.
- Configure the Microsoft SQL Server service to run using a Local System account.
- Restart the Microsoft SQL Server.
- Configure the BlackBerry Enterprise Server services and the IBM Lotus Domino service to run using a Local System account.
- Restart the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
Important: Restarting certain BlackBerry Enterprise Server services will delay email message delivery to BlackBerry smartphones. For more information, see KB04789
