KB05281 - Mailstore Adaptor DLL has failed to initialize
Environment
- BlackBerry® Enterprise Server software version 4.1 for Microsoft® Exchange
- Microsoft® Outlook® 2007
Overview
You create a BlackBerry device user account in Microsoft® Active Directory® and add it to the Security Administrator group (rim_db_admin_security) in BlackBerry Manager. The mailbox is not enabled for the BlackBerry device user account, and the Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) profile is not resolved. When you open BlackBerry Manager, you receive the following message:
If you try to add the BlackBerry device user to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, you receive the following message:
The function is unavailable because the Mailstore Adaptor DLL has failed to initialize.
Cause
The MAPI profile for the BlackBerry device user that is currently logged in is corrupt or does not exist.
Resolution
Resolution 1:
To resolve the issue, recreate the MAPI profile, or delete it before recreating it.
Resolution 2:
If using Outlook 2007 the user would need to have the supported MAPI clients installed such as MAPI/CDO 1.2.1.
