KB11879 - What is mass storage mode
KB11879 - What is mass storage mode
Environment
- BlackBerry® smartphones
- BlackBerry® Desktop Manager versions 4.2 to 4.7
- MicroSD media card
Overview
While your BlackBerry smartphone is connected to your computer (USB connection), mass storage mode allows you to transfer files between your media card and your computer.
When mass storage mode is turned on, you can use Windows® Explorer (or My Computer) to transfer files between your media card and your computer.
If you are running BlackBerry Desktop Software version 4.2 SP2, mass storage mode must be turned ON in order to use the Roxio® Media Manager tool in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to transfer files between your media card and your computer.
If you are running BlackBerry Desktop Software version 4.2 or SP1, mass storage mode must be turned OFF in order to use the Roxio Media Manager tool in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to transfer files between your media card and your computer.
For instructions on how to manually turn on, or turn off mass storage mode, see KB13564.
Additional Information
